【摘要】:Thesetestmethodsprovidearapidmeansofevaluatingtendenciesforpackagefailurewhenthepackageisexposedtoapressuredifferential.Pressuredifferentialsmayoccurduringprocessessuchassterilizationandtransportation.Thesetestmethodsarefrequentlyusedtoquicklyevaluatepackagesduringthemanufacturingprocessandatvariousstagesofthepackagersquo;lifecycle.Ifcorrelationsbetweenpiecesoftestequipmentaretobemade,itisimportantthatallparametersofthetestmethodbeexactlythesame.Typicalparametersmayinclude,butarenotlimitedto,packagesize,material,sealconfiguration,testequipment,rateofairflowintothepackage,sensitivity(machineresponsetopressuredrop),andpositionoftestarticle(seeFig.1).ThesetestmethodsdonotnecessarilyprovidecorrelationwithactualpackagesealstrengthastypicallymeasuredusingTestMethodF88(orequivalent).FIG.1OpenPackageTestPositions1.1Thesetestmethodsexplaintheprocedurefordeterminingtheabilityofpackagestowithstandinternalpressurization.1.2Thebursttestincreasinglypressurizesthepackageuntilthepackagefails.1.3Thecreeptestmaintainsaspecifiedpressureforaspecifiedtimeoruntilthepackagefails.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
