【摘要】:Thetermreferenceasemployedinthispracticeimpliesthatboththeglassandthemetalofthereferenceglass-metalsealwillbeastandardreferencematerialsuchasthosesuppliedforotherphysicaltestsbytheNationalInstituteofStandardsandTechnology,orasecondaryreferencematerialwhosesealingcharacteristicshavebeendeterminedbysealstoastandardreferencematerial(seeNISTSpecialPublication260).UntilstandardreferencematerialsforsealsareestablishedbytheNIST,secondaryreferencematerialsmaybeagreeduponbetweenproduceranduser.1.1Thispracticecoversproceduresforpreparingandtestingreferenceglass-to-metalbead-sealsfordeterminingthemagnitudeofthermalexpansion(orcontraction)mismatchbetweentheglassandmetal.TestsareinaccordancewithmethodF218(2).1.2Thispracticeappliestoallglass-metalcombinations,establishedorexperimental,particularlythoseintendedforelectroniccomponents.1.3Thepracticallimitofthetestindevisingmismatchisapproximately300ppm,abovewhichtheglassislikelytofracture.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
